War of the Worlds is world famous, there is the War of the Worlds original book, two films based on the book and a concept album by Jeff Wayne. This concept album tells the story of the original book through the medium of music. It was released in 1978 and proved to be so popular it was the 40th best selling album of all time in the UK in 2009. It is Jeff Waynes musical version of War of the Worlds which has spawned the War of the World slots game. 

For those of you unfamiliar with the War of the Worlds story that was so popular it inspired films, an album and now a slots game then here is a synopsis. The genre and sci fi and the plot revolves around Martians invading Earth. The story is told throughout by an unnamed narrator and it begins when he describes witnessing explosions from his observatory on Mars. Later on what is thought to be a meteor lands on Earth. However, upon closer inspection this meteor transpires to be a cylinder from which Martians appear. The Army prepare to defend Earth but the Martians are far from a pushover, in fact they have assembled special fighting machines. Meanwhile, more and more Martians are landing on Earth and a red martian weed is taking over the Earths ecosystem. The narrator manages to take refuge away from the chaos in an abandoned building, eventually he manages to escape and finds that the Martians have been killed by a bacteria to which they had no immunity and society begins to rebuild itself and normalise. 

For obvious reasons I had high expectations when it came to the soundtrack of War of the Worlds slots and I am pleased to announce that I was not disappointed. As well as fab music the game itself has five reels and one hundred paylines. You can play the game in both high and low resolution depending on how powerful the computer is that you are playing on, the graphics are great in both. Symbols you can expect to play with in this game include the central character and lots of scary alien attack scenes. When you being play you must select your stake and then spin unless you are feeling lazy you can just shove on the auto play feature. Look out for two or more wild symbols on active paylines to win and this will make the whole reel turn wild. When you get three bonus symbols you will then trigger the Fighting Machine bonus game. This is the most action packed part of the game where you have to blast three tripods with your cannons. When you power bar shows as full you can then begin firing at the aliens, you must act quickly before the aliens kill you! When they are defeated you can then play two more rounds to beat nine alien fighting machines. When you defeat all nine you will win 500 x your stake, woo thats a lot of winnings!
